then Vice-president of the Constitutional Court Professor Jo\u00e3o Caupers a conference on the 40th anniversary of the entry into force of the European Convention on Human Rights in Portugal, at the Law Faculty of the Lisbon Nova University.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><div class=\"panel panel-default wpb_accordion_section group  no-block-padding no-h-padding\"><div class=\"panel-heading wpb_accordion_header ui-accordion-header\"><p class=\"panel-title h4 font-weight-600 text-   icon-size-rg\"><a data-toggle=\"collapse\" data-parent=\"#accordion_899917974\" href=\"#efe01523-2776-6167267070583917157580534078268-862f\"><span>Conference on the European Convention on Human Rights<\/span><\/a><\/p><\/div><div id=\"efe01523-2776-6167267070583917157580534078268-862f\" class=\"panel-collapse collapse\"><div class=\"panel-body wpb_accordion_content ui-accordion-content single-internal-gutter single-block-padding\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"vc_row row-internal row-container\"><div class=\"row row-child\"><div class=\"wpb_row row-inner\"><div class=\"wpb_column pos-top pos-center class=\"uncode_text_column\" ><p>In June 2019 Professor Albuquerque organised a three-day conference in Lisbon and Porto on the European convention on Human Rights, with 142 speakers (professors from 15 different universities, judges from the Constitutional Court, the Supreme Court, the Administrative Supreme Court and Court of Audit and prosecutors from the General Prosecutor\u2019s Office). The then President of the European Court of Human Rights Judge Alexandre Sicilianos opened the conference and the President of the Republic closed it. The speeches of the participants were published in three volumes, including a preface of the President of the Republic: Coment\u00e1rio da Conven\u00e7\u00e3o Europeia dos Direitos Humanos e dos seus Protocolos Adicionais (Commentary of the European Convention<br \/>\non Human Rights and its Additional Protocols), cited below.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><div class=\"panel panel-default wpb_accordion_section group  no-block-padding no-h-padding\"><div class=\"panel-heading wpb_accordion_header ui-accordion-header\"><p class=\"panel-title h4 font-weight-600 text-   icon-size-rg\"><a data-toggle=\"collapse\" data-parent=\"#accordion_899917974\" href=\"#10314d48-70e0-0167267070583917157580534078268-862f\"><span>Conference in memory of Justice Maia Gon\u00e7alves<\/span><\/a><\/p><\/div><div id=\"10314d48-70e0-0167267070583917157580534078268-862f\" class=\"panel-collapse collapse\"><div class=\"panel-body wpb_accordion_content ui-accordion-content single-internal-gutter single-block-padding\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"uncode_text_column\" ><p>In September 2010, Professor Albuquerque organised with the then Vice-president of the Supreme Court Dr. Henriques Gaspar a conference in memory of Justice Maia Gon\u00e7alves, at the Supreme Court, Lisbon.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><div class=\"panel panel-default wpb_accordion_section group  no-block-padding no-h-padding\"><div class=\"panel-heading wpb_accordion_header ui-accordion-header\"><p class=\"panel-title h4 font-weight-600 text-   icon-size-rg\"><a data-toggle=\"collapse\" data-parent=\"#accordion_899917974\" href=\"#1665420124-1-86167267070583917157580534078268-862f\"><span>International conference on the International Criminal Court<\/span><\/a><\/p><\/div><div id=\"1665420124-1-86167267070583917157580534078268-862f\" class=\"panel-collapse collapse\"><div class=\"panel-body wpb_accordion_content ui-accordion-content single-internal-gutter single-block-padding\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"uncode_text_column\" ><p>In March 2006, Professor Albuquerque organised with the then Deputy Prosecutor-General the first international conference on the International Criminal Court in Portugal, with 16 experts. The conference was opened by the Minister of Justice Dr. Alberto Costa and closed by the Judge of the ICC Dra. Sylvia Steiner and the Prosecutor of the ICC Dr. Luis Moreno-Ocampo.
